Seaweed Biofuel Economic Feasibility Study

This projects scope was to explore the technical feasibility, ecological impact, and commercial viability of producing biofuel from cultivated seaweed in Scotland.

It builds on earlier findings from Energy Hub Phase 1 scope of works, which identified biodiesel as the most practical fuel alternative for offshore facilities. The study ruled out wild harvesting due to sustainability concerns and focuses on large-scale cultivation as a feedstock for biofuel production.
