NLC out and about recently!  

In true Northern Light style, we have attended a wide variety of events over the last few weeks.  

Sarah headed to Oban for The Scottish Seaweed Association Annual Conference.  

The conference, titled ‘How to Scale Responsibly: Unlocking the Potential Through Best Practice’; The event key aim was to encourage the discussion of the sustainable growth of the seaweed industry through multiple formats, such as conference sessions and networking receptions.  

During the conference sessions, a series of experts led discussions into key topics such as animal interactions with seaweed farms, offshore wind colocation potential, market applications, and regulatory frameworks, whilst specialists will share their insights and experiences.  

Meanwhile, Greg headed to Inverness for the Highland Construction and Property Dinner held at the Kingsmill Hotel. The event is jointly organised Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, Scottish Building Federation and Chartered Institue of Builder and a brilliant opportunity to meet is with around 360+ industry professionals. This year the event was fundraising for supporting Inverness Sea Cadets, Maggie’s Centres, Crocus Highland 

Over the weekend, Neil was on duck duty, raising funds for Marybank Primary Parent Council.  

The 2023 Duck Race follows on from a tradition of previous duck races on the River Conon from Moy Bridge near Marybank to the first bend in the river. It is the first hosted since 2016 but was previously a regular feature in the area.
